The EMB test is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, both of which take a holistic approach to health and disease. The idea behind the EMB test is that the health of the body can be reflected in the morphology (shape and size) of the red blood cells.

The purpose of the EMB test is to gain insight into the health of the body as a whole, not just looking at specific symptoms or conditions. As a result, the test can also be used as a preventive measure to detect and prevent health problems at an early stage.

There are no absolute contraindications to the EMB test as it is a non-invasive and safe test. However, there are some situations where the test may not be appropriate or additional measures may need to be taken, such as:

1. If you are taking blood-thinning medications, this may increase your risk of bruising or bleeding after the blood draw. Your doctor may advise you to stop taking these medications prior to the test.
2. If you have a bleeding disorder, such as hemophilia or sickle cell anemia, taking a blood sample may require extra care and expertise.
3. If you are pregnant, you should consult your doctor before having the test, as some aspects of the test may not be suitable for pregnant women.
4. If you suffer from an infectious disease, the result of the EMB test may be biased. It is therefore advisable to wait until you have fully recovered before undergoing the test.
