What is Fat Freezing?

The treatment

Tired of excess fat?

Sometimes you can suffer from excess fat, despite exercising or dieting, this fat does not go away. Cryolipolysis can offer a solution for you. This treatment is effective in reducing and permanently removing excess fat by freezing the problem area.

Fat Freezing can be applied to the following zones:

  • double chin
  • Arms/upper arms
  • Love handles
  • (Lower) abdomen
  • Bra bulges/back fat
  • Thighs and thighs

What is cryolipolysis (fat freezing)?

Cryolipolysis, also known as "fat freezing", is a safe and relatively fast way to remove stubborn fat. Because the fat cells freeze, they die and are naturally removed by the body. Fat cells that have been removed once do not come back and are therefore permanently removed. Fat freezing ensures that you can remove excess fat in a targeted area.

The benefits of fat freezing are:

  • Fat freezing removes fat without surgery
  • Fat freezing is easy and painless
  • The result is already visible after a few treatments
  • Fat cells are broken down naturally
  • Remove fat in specific places

How fat freezing works

MedCos Body Wizard

We use the MedCos Body-Wizard for a fat freezing treatment. This device is a front runner in cryolipolysis equipment. With this device we can effectively, quickly and painlessly reduce and/or permanently remove excess fat.

The MedCos Body-Wizard reduces the fat in the problem area by an average of 20% per treatment. For example, the Body Wizard ensures that fat cells are frozen so that the body can dispose of them in a natural way.

How does fat freezing work?

  • Step 1 The intake interview

During the intake interview for fat freezing, our certified skin therapist examines the problem area in detail, after which she makes an analysis. She will check in advance whether fat freezing is suitable for you. Based on this analysis, the skin therapist will draw up a treatment plan for fat freezing together with you.

  • Step 2 Cryolipolysis (fat freezing)

The first step in fat freezing is to mark the area to be treated and clean the skin. We then place a moist tissue that protects the skin during the fat freezing treatment. The applicator of the MedCos Body Wizard is the last to be placed on the skin, after which it will suck a vacuum.

Exactly how long the treatment takes depends on the area to be treated and the appointments with the skin therapist. During the treatment you can watch a movie, read a book or just relax. The applicator of the MedCos Body Wizard ensures that the skin is then cooled. The applicator then reaches a temperature of -11 degrees, so that the subcutaneous fat layer reaches a temperature of about 2 degrees. This ensures that the fat layer becomes cold enough to break down later. The process by which the skin is cooled is called cryolipolysis, or fat freezing.

  • Step 3 After fat freezing

After the treatment, the skin therapist will give the skin an intensive massage for 2 minutes. The skin can sometimes look a bit red, don't worry: this redness disappears on average within half an hour.

Does fat freezing hurt?

Cryolipolysis, or fat freezing, does not hurt. You may experience a tingling or pulling sensation during the treatment. You may also experience some cold/warm sensations during the treatment. This may feel uncomfortable, but the treatment does not hurt.

Result fat freezing

The result of the treatment is optimally visible about 2 to 3 months after fat freezing. After only 6 weeks you can already notice a difference. After two months there is a check-up appointment where the result is viewed and the treatment and period afterwards is discussed. The skin therapist can also see how effective the treatment has been and whether more treatments are needed.

There is an average of 8-12 weeks between the treatments, in which the skin is given time to recover and drain fat cells.

How many treatments do I need?

Exactly how many fat freezing treatments you need differs per person. This has to do with the problem area, the amount of fat and the desired result. During the intake interview, the skin therapist can give an indication of the number of fat freezing treatments that will be required to achieve the desired result.

When the result of the first treatment is visible after 6-8 weeks, it can be decided whether the desired result has been achieved or whether more treatments are needed.
