More about acne

What is Acne?

Acne or pimples is one of the most common skin conditions. About 85% of people between the ages of 15-25 suffer from some form of acne. Acne often manifests itself in the form of blackheads (comodones), pustules (pustules), red bumps (papules) and subcutaneous inflammation (nodules). The preferred areas of acne are the face, neck, neck, back, shoulders and chest.

How does acne arise?

Acne occurs on parts of the body where there are many sebaceous glands. These sebaceous glands ensure that the skin barrier functions properly by keeping the skin supple and hydrated. Unfortunately, it happens that too much sebum is produced, during puberty this happens under the influence of hormones. This form of acne is acne vulgaris, more commonly known as pimples. In addition, there are other forms of acne, such as: acne comedonica, acne conglobata, acne tarda, Acne excoriée des jeunes filles and acne vulgaris.

Treat acne

Acne often decreases after the age of 25, but until the acne decreases there are various treatment options. Treatment depends on the severity of the acne. For example, Clinique Elixir works with high-quality products to give the skin a thorough deep cleansing, the acne is removed and the skin is cleaned and cared for. In addition, various peels are used to reduce acne and residual symptoms of acne such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or scars can be tackled with the dermapen and / or fractional laser.

Skin scan and intake

During the first consultation, the nature of your complaint will be discussed with the practitioner, so that a tailor-made treatment plan can be made. A good treatment plan starts with a skin analysis with the Observ520 skin scanner. The skin therapist can provide a detailed skin analysis about the deeper layers of the skin. You will also receive advice on products that you use at home to support and optimize the treatment. The results of the scan are stored and compared so that we can monitor the progress of the treatment.
